Former DREAM THEATER Keyboardist Prepares New CHROMA KEY CD
March 27, 2002CHROMA KEY, featuring former DREAM THEATER and current FATES WARNING keyboardist Kevin Moore, is in the process of recording a new album, which Moore has described as “more of a strictly 'solo' effort, since [producer/collaborator] Steve [Tushar] is in L.A. and I am here in Costa Rica. However I am beginning to work with several musicians in town including a violinist, guitar player, and a group of musicians from Argentina who play didjeridu, mouth harps, kalimbas and other hand-made instruments. We have been playing locally just for fun and experimentation — not CHROMA KEY stuff. We've been recording every time we play, to listen later for ideas, and I have already incorporated some of the recordings into the new CK material, mostly in the form of edited variations of loops. This album is going to sound very different than the other CK stuff - a sort of hybrid of hi- and lo-tech.”
The as-yet-untitled effort is tentatively scheduled for a June/July release.
